Bruce Bowen retires

Bruce Bowen makes it official as he has retired from the NBA after 12 seasons. There were reports out of Milwaukee that he had been contemplating retirement after the blockbuster trade from San Antonio. He confirmed the news at a press conference earlier in the day and calls it a career after spending some championship years in the state of Texas. Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginboli got most of the credit for winning the rings but it was the gritty, tenacious defense that went unrecognized most of the time.
In memory of Bruce Bowen I found the best clip that depicts his game.

Latest news

Stephen Jackson of the Golden State Warriors announced he would like to be traded to a championship contender. Despite signing a three year contract in November he would still like a move to one of the heavyweights. Cleveland Cavaliers would seem like a good fit for him but the Warriors coaching staff have played down the report and see Jackson as an integral part of the long-term plans of the Warriors.

Marquis Daniels, formerly of the Indiana Pacers, has signed with the Boston Celtics as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season and make another push at the championship. Daniels brings some speed, passing, and shooting to the Celtics and should get significant minutes coming off the bench.

Chris Bosh may be staying in T.O. after all. He made it clear at the end of the season that he is not interested in negotiating a contract extension. He was the first of the big 2010 free agent class to clear the air but after acquiring Hedo Turkoglu and many other components, he seems reluctant to stay in Raptor land. He spent most of his summer in Toronto for the first time since his arrival in the city and maybe that is a key factor in his decision making come contract talks.
